The Community Fund is a scheme that grants local community groups and charities small amounts for local projects enriching the lives of young people aged 11-19. Grants up to the value of £500 are issued by the Youth Voice Community subcommittee that meets on a twice monthly basis. The grant scheme is kindly subsidised by our partnerships with two businesses holding significant local presences.
Groups may apply irrespective of their size or status, and all applications will be considered fairly by our grant panel. Projects are monitored by Youth Councillors over their lifetime, and should improve the quality of life for young people in Mole Valley. The scheme is intended to be a permanent one, with funding currently being reviewed on an annual basis.
Through this scheme, we aim to make the lives of young people in Mole Valley:
- Healthier — we want to encourage sporting activities
- Improve prospects — through different experiences
- More stimulating — ensuring a variety of activities are always on offer
- More secure — through community safety projects and enriching the lives of those likely to offend
We aim to publicise information on grants issued on this page as the scheme progresses. The scheme will also be regularly reviewed through our semi-annual report, next to be issued in December 2011.
